People who are looking for debt relief may find some cost savings by changing their habits.

Recently, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution 's Atlanta Bargain Hunter Blog noted that some consumers are pulling back on savings in order to find debt relief. For example, people may consider trying to quit smoking, which can save money.

They may also pull back on fancier television packages or refrain from eating out as much. Blogger Rana Cashdid note that cutting back on luxuries by changing a person's habits may not be a simple task.

"Doing so, however, could put you on the road to financial freedom," Cash wrote. "At the very least, it can give you a little breathing room from suffocating, often-unnecessary bills."

Other ways to cut unnecessary costs include refraining from clothing shopping or buying that morning beverage at a coffee shop.

Recently Forbes noted that there are ways for people to save money when they do shop during this
time of year. Because retailers are revolving their stock for the new season, many things like grills and swimwear may be on sale.
