Bills.com Earns Finalist Spot in 2008 American Business Awards

San Mateo firm lands spot as one of fastest-growing companies in America

SAN MATEO, Calif., May  14, 2008 – Bills.com has been named a finalist in the “most innovative company” category of the 2008 American Business Awards.

The American Business Awards constitute one of four programs in the Stevie Awards, hailed as “the business world’s own Oscars” (New York Post, April 27, 2005). The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.

As a finalist, Bills.com will be recognized at the sixth annual Stevie Awards gala June 12 in New York City. Category winners will be announced at that time. More than 600 executives from across the United States are expected to attend the ceremony, which will be broadcast on radio nationwide by the Business TalkRadio Network and hosted by Liz Claman of FOX Business Network.

Bills.com’s unique business model incorporates the Web site as a free one-stop site where consumers can educate themselves about complex personal finance issues and comparison shop for products and services including credit cards, debt relief assistance, insurance, mortgages and other loans. Bills.com serves as the online portal to Freedom Financial Network, LLC, providing comprehensive consumer debt resolution services to more than 40,000 customers since 2002 while managing more than $1 billion in consumer debt.

With Freedom Financial Network, LLC, Bills.com employs 410 employees in three offices, and projects a total of 550 employees by the end of 2008. The company has realized a compound annualized growth rate in sales over the past three years of 294 percent, growing by 173 percent in 2007, with revenues of $43.5 million.

More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and industries competed for consideration in more than 40 categories. The volume of entries grew 30 percent this year, according to Michael Gallagher, founder and president of The Stevie Awards. “Being named a finalist is more of an accomplishment than ever before,” he says.
