Bank of Ameri-nazi
Oklahoma City, OK | May 16, 2013
Like most people duped by BoA. we filed chapter 7 bankruptcy and went thru the lengthy paper process for a modification. BoA spokesman, Gregory, stated that we were approved. we made payments on time since(9 months)and out of the blue, BoA spokeswoman, bridgett called and said that we were not apporoved, the house will be sold and we will be sued for the balance. little did they know, we already included the mortgage in bankruptcy. we plan to file suit!
Worst experience ever
New York, NY | May 15, 2013
I have never had such a bad experience with ANY company. I wish I had read posts here much early. I think they enjoy screwing their customers. Contract deadlines mean nothing to them, they'll sit on your files for days or weeks without doing anything until the deadlines come, then they find all sort of absurd excuses. Their underwriting department in Detroit are made up of a bunch of idiots with no brain, no heart, and no soul. If you pick BoA mortgage after reading these, it's your punishment.
Horrible! Horrible
Warner Robins, GA | May 14, 2013
We were trying to refinance our loan for a lower rate. Despite credit score of 794 and the fact that we have been paying BOA for years on our loan, it has been a fiasco. We must have faxed 120 documents -- many for the 2nd or 3rd time which they either ignored or lost. Questioned deposits to our account which I explained were for part-time work & included the documentation resulted on no resolution. They thought I had incurred additional debt. I am planning to move our accounts elsewhere.
Bank of America Nightmare
Glendale, AZ | May 12, 2013
For 17 months I've been in a modification nightmare. The worst part is that I was completely current when I went to them for "help". This company runs on lies and incompetence. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else.
Don't even try to refinace for a lower rate unless you want to throw $465.00 out the door!
Saint Louis, MO | May 02, 2013
If you think you can refinance with Bank of America for a lower interest rate you are WRONG!!! It's just a scam to get more money out of you for their bogus appraisal or loan processing fee. The whole team in Beaverton, Oregon is just sweat shop of scammers that will lie to you. I think these people lie about what they ate for lunch! Save yourself some grief and try with one of you local banks if you have one. These people seem to have NO ethics. I've been told by an insider they all get huge bonuses!
People are idiots that post on here!
Charlotte, NC | April 29, 2013
I just read the reviews since I'm looking into purchasing a new home, and the reviews are horrible for Bofa. Most of these are refinances...but still gives some indication on how it works at Bofa. So then I click the links at the bottom for Chase reviews, Suntrust Reviews, Quicken reviews, and Wells reviews. Guess what...every company is between 1-2 stars. What does that mean? It means getting a mortgage is a painful process no matter where you go!
Horrible
Fairfax, VA | March 22, 2013
The BOA goons have fine rates and fees but God help you if you need information from them. The customer service reps are idiots who rarely take notes and don't know how to transfer you or to who. I seriously hope none of you have to ever call them.
HORRIBLE!
Griffin, GA | March 13, 2013
Worst experience! We were buying a home. Turned in all the paperwork, they ran our credit check, twice...because they took forever to process everything so the first one was outdated. Our loan officers, which we were assigned 2, Angela Webb and Kevin Barton, were not communicating with each other and took forever to collect our paperwork. Every time we faxed 10 things, hoping it was over and waiting on a closing date, they would ask for 10 more the next week. Never again!
Streamline refinance
Beverly Hills, CA | March 01, 2013
WOW- I wish I had read this thread before going down this road..all I can say is that I agree with them all! It has been a nightmare and taken months when it was supposed to take 45-60 days. I REALLY believe they are trained on finding every excuse for this not to work. Like others, I won't bore you with the story but I have jumped through EVERY hoop twice and still can't get approved- credit and money are not the issue..only their excuses. RIDICULOUS.
Not helping their customers
Bridgeton, NJ | February 11, 2013
This bank has totally taken advantage of there customers. I was placed with BOA after my mortgage company, Taylor Bean and Whitigar, went bankrupt. Since then, they have forced-placed flood insurance on me above the balance of the loan and screwed up my escrow accounts so bad it has caused large issues in getting a streamline refinance. The whole story would take all day to cover the facts. Just stay as far away from them as you can.
PLEASE BEWARE....
Brooklyn, NY | February 08, 2013
HI, if u want to save a few pennies, then go with BOA, BUT the other side of the coin is unimaginable.. June will be a year since i been doing a refi. I heard every excuse in the world. i have done 2 appraisal, 4 credit ck an still pending. They aren't all bad . i have two good bankers working with me, Gillian Fyees and Jarrett Mathews, but when out of their hands thing that take 3 days will take a month or longer. Saving a 1/2 point was no worth it, esp since i was in the process of doing it with citi ...
Worst Experience of my life!
Lakeland, FL | February 03, 2013
Wasted a year with no results. Closed my credit cards, spent countless hours on tasks they demanded to no avail, including a letter as to how long I lived in my Post Office Box, wasted a ton of money..all for nothing! They nearly destroyed my personal business. They never return your calls, keep you waiting until the next excuse as to why they can't do their job, and are proud as to how awful they are! Clients who work for the bank hate them as well.
5 + Months to Refi Yuk
New York, NY | January 26, 2013
After reading the reviews, I can see that I am not alone concerning frustration from BofA. We have been trying to close this note since August. BofA holds the original mortgage! They ask for the same documentation over and over again. They do not return phone calls. Can not wait to walk away from this deal. At this point, I am very willing to eat the application fee and take my 800+ credit score to another lender. I would give zero or negative stars if I could.
Run away from BOA, worst bank ever!
Mulberry, IN | January 23, 2013
We have been working on a "streamlined" re-finance that I was originally told would take about 45 days and no more than 60. We are going on almost 5 months now and I still do not have a definite answer on closing. This has been the most frustrating experience that I have ever had with a bank. They tell you one thing, and do another. Also, they tell you they don't need some documentation and then ask for it a cople weeks later.
Run, run, run
Medical Lake, WA | January 19, 2013
Don't use this bank unless you want to pull all your hair out. They are supposed to be professionals, they are absolutely the worst.
Bank of America sells my house while telling me no sale date.
Danville, KY | January 13, 2013
I had my last chance to do anything with my Bank of America mortgage a couple days ago. When the circuit court judge gave me 10 days to move out. My biggest reason for staying is that I was never told by Bank of America customer relations manager that my house was for sale! That's right, I was told to send paperwork in for a loan modification instead of trying to pay the balance that I owed. I was hesitant. I told them I would apply for a loan modification, as long as, I had time to make a decision.
If I could give 'em zero stars, I would
Twp Of Bedminster, NJ | January 09, 2013
I got a correspondence from BofA that said I might qualify for a no-closing cost refinance to a lower rate on my mortgage. I called and was treated like a deadbeat, even though I had never been late on my mortgage. I was even advised that I should try assistance from the government before seeking a loan modification. I was deeply offended because I'm not in any financial trouble. I've called the bank twice since and get handed off to the at risk loan department, even though I'm paid up 3 mos in advance.
Bank of America= Pain and suffering
French Settlement, LA | December 20, 2012
I am experiencing everything the other reviews say- I am a longstanding customer that locked in Aug and haven't closed! My loan at underwriter who I go two weeks at a time before I hear from them and then they say they need more updated information@!! wtH? It was updated when I sent it three weeks ago. They can't even read a bank statement!! Their customer service stinks- can't answer why they need things and make promises they don't keep! don't finance with BOA!!!!! I would give them a negative if i could.
Horrible Experience - STAY AWAY FROM B OF A
San Diego, CA | November 30, 2012
I was a longtime preferred customer of bank of america with credit score>800 and no debt, and decided to use them for my mortgage loan. After 10 days or so my loan officer was satisfied with my documentation and the appraisal went fine. My file was sent to the underwriter. After 3 weeks and no action(no request for more docs, nothing)and no explanation for the delay, I couldn't remove the loan contingency and the deal fell through.BofA is dysfunctional and literally cant process a loan in a reasonable time
Avoid Bank of America at all costs
Bryan, TX | November 27, 2012
Like many others here, I am disgusted with Bank of America. I am a real estate broker and my clients have been trying to get their mortgage approved. They are buying a Bank of America foreclosure and were forced to get a pre-approval from B of A. They promised my client a great rate and my client decided to use them to finance the loan. Once the loan officer - Terry Ivins - took my clients information he NEVER called them again. We are having to deal with only the processor. STAY away from B of A.
3 months (and counting) after application, still havent closed on refinance
New York, NY | November 22, 2012
in general the people i have been on contact with been quite helpful and pleasant. it's the process that is completely broken. to refinance i chose to stay with bank of america. trying to take advantage of the harp program because of closing cost credits, no appraisal, and i already had the relationship. that last part was key b/c i though the process would be quick. but 3 mos later, still no closing. makes no sense. they have all paperwork, first hand view of my payment history, etc. -beyond frustrated
Don't use Bank of America for your mortgage company! You may live to regret it!
Shannon, NC | October 31, 2012
I remember cursing the day they bought my loan from Taylor Bean & Whittaker!
Nothing but lies BOA their reps don't do nothing to help the customer
Hertford, NC | October 29, 2012
My husband actively worked w/ a BOA rep who told us that they would be sending out a modification pack for us to sign & wait for a call, which we never recved. My husband contacted BOA was told by Jennifer Eason that there's a sale date( 1 day )before the sale, she proceeded to tell him what he hadn't paid & how many months we were behind w/ an unprofessionl attitude as if to say that's your problem not mines. I called 3wks no return until I left a message saying what is BOA paying U 4. BOA is no GOOD
Avoid B of A at All Costs for Mortgage/Lending Process
Laurel, MD | October 28, 2012
3 months in, they're non-responsive despite the fact they claim to respond within 24 hours. Elevated to supervisors and same poor/lack/no service response. The same day we receive something that needs notarize, signed, or completed we return to them. Two weeks later it's back on their "missing" list so you have to resend. The online "tracking" your progress is a joke, it assumes someone competent is updating on the other side. What out for them - they have nothing to offer but incompetence and charge for
Paid someone else's property taxes with my escrow
Mount Prospect, IL | October 25, 2012
Bank Of America Paid someone else's property taxes using my escrow account in 2010 and still has not refunded my money. THey clained they straightend out the error replaced money into my escrow account and then on the same day took it back out. Everytime I call I talk to someone else that first tells me I'm in the wrong, then realizes I am not, tells me it will take 10 business days to fix and yet nothing has changed. Stay Clear I am CONVINCED that someone is in Vegas with my money. can you say LAWSUIT!
Our buyer is using BofA & we are looking at our 4th extension
Guilford, CT | October 24, 2012
Our whole experience has been absolutely ridiculous. We signed a contract in August & the inspection happened the 1st week of September. We heard nothing back, the buyer asked for no repairs (house is in great shape). Then, 5 days before closing, we heard from our attorney that BofA was requiring 3 of the most ridiculous, petty repairs you can imagine AND that we have the house reinspected. As of this week, the mortgage is approved, but BofA doesn't know if they can process it by Friday.
America -Stay Away From Bank of America
Ivyland, PA | October 23, 2012
BOA. Is the absolute worst mortgage company to deal with. Never return phone calls. This company needs to be abolished!!! They are the most incapable group of people out there. Their employees should be EMBARRASSED to work for them. This company is really doing wrong to sooooo many people. Do not use this company. Find someone else!! Someone needs to do to BOA what they do to the poor innocent people out there. We had impeccable credit for 30 years. Thanks to BOA our credit went to crap.
How Do I Get Out of a B of A refi?
Petaluma, CA | October 14, 2012
Started refi with BofA on June 13, 2012. They keep upping the closing date & rate lock. Now it is supposed to be October 24. Can I get out of this without having to pay 'their costs' if it doesn't close by then?
Mortgage application experience
T/o Franklin, NJ | October 10, 2012
Applied for a mortgage, the experience was hell. Worst bank; never go to them. They keep asking the same thing again and again. Never come on the phone. God help their English skills as there emails make no sense.
Bank of America harrasses grieving family
Espanola, NM | September 21, 2012
My sister had a mortgage with Bank of America. She passed away in March, 2012. As a result she missed her next mortgage payment. When B of A called her, I informed B of A that she was dead. When I informed them that she was dead, B of A continued to call, repeatedly -- approximately one dozen times. They finally brought me to tears. I submitted a payoff to B of A, and they will not release the lien on her house, and they refuse to give me any information. On a scale of 1 to 10, they deserve a zero.
Incompetence, Ineptitude, Inadequacy
Brooklyn, NY | September 04, 2012
In spite of our having credit scores well above 750, solid income with the same employer for 10 years, and an appraisal at a higher than expected level, our home refinance was denied due to the inability of the loan officer Jonathan Garnes, his supervisor Beau Plotner, and the loan processor Susana Paulaus to work with the underwriting department to help them understand New York City building code. Additionally e-mails were lost or went unanswered and documents lost. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!
Useless loan processor and cant do their job properly
Houston, TX | August 08, 2012
2 months jerked around by them, 2x closing date pushed back, and the 3rd closing date they said d/i ratio to high, cant close unless i borrow less already put down 20%. They they one did the prequalify and have all the doc from the 1st week and coming up with this crap at the 3rd closing date. Take your business somewhere else, avoid this bank entity at all cost. I'm closing my acct with them and take my cash somewhere else.
Finally Rid of BOA!!!!
Lexington, KY | July 15, 2012
After trying for over 9 months to refinance our mortgage we are finally rid of BOA!Unfortunately, our home lost $40K in value since building it in 2008. BOA was unwilling to work with us on refinance under the HARP program due to us having LPMI, I guess? In June '12 they said we were ineligible for HARP & wouldn't tell us why! Everything else I had already checked said we were. Luckily, we tried one more place to refinance QuickenLoans and closed within 30 days at the rates and amount quoted. YEA!
MAKE A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL BFORE YOU USE BANK OF AMERICA
Huntsville, AL | June 25, 2012
THIS COMPANY IS A RIP OFF!!!! If you take time to research revi9ews--you will see people who paid their home off and then got forclosed on!! Believe because they are doing it to me!! I paid off my home and now my escrow is negative, therefore they won't accept payoff.. also quoted payoff balance good til july first--its only june 25th and i already owe more. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! PLEASE QUIT HELPING THEM RIP OTHERS OFF!!!! THEY ONLY EXIST IF WE KEEP GIVING THEM BUSINESS!! THEY ALW
Atascocita, TX | May 12, 2012
Tried to work for them for the longest time, always giving us differnet answers, right hand ignores what left hand is doing. They sold our home, while in a mediation case with HUD, ALWAYS requesting for more time to review the case, even AFTER the home was sold and we wee evicted. Would NEVER do business with them again. Very dissapointed at their UNTRUSTFUL actions!
NEVER EVER GO WITH BANK OF AMERICA!!
Murfreesboro, TN | May 11, 2012
B of A purchased Countrywide mortgages. I tried to be helpful and responsive...DON'T!If you have to do a short sale - good luck on them doing it quickly so you don't lose a buyer....my buyer walked after 7 months! Then don't bother trying to do a deed in lieu..20 months for that to be completed. I was even told BY a B of A employee that if I hadn't worked with them, I would have been out of the house over a year ago! THEN after the deed in lieu I get more hell from where they didn't file the deed HUD file!
I will NEVER EVER
Lincoln, ND | May 03, 2012
get a mortgage, loan, or credit card from Bank of America again, or obtain a mortgage that has any chance of being sold or transferred, because it could wind up at Bank of America. My experience with this company during last summer's flood disaster on the Missouri River would be comical if it weren't so sad. My credit rating went down over 100 points while my blood pressure skyrocketed. Stay away at all costs.
Great loan officer communication but long loan process
Phoenix, AZ | April 27, 2012
I just completed my refinance last week. The loan officer was great... he followed up constantly, alwasys returned my calls, and answered all my questions. The process did take awhile... I was told that it would take 60 days but it ended up taking almost a full 3 months. I was never lied to during the process but there were some requests for information that seemed kind of intrusive (Why do they care that my brother gave me $200 cash for a birthday present?).
"Prove you don't have a debt"
Escondido, CA | April 27, 2012
Been over FOUR months and still no approval. In the process of refinancing 4 BofA loans. One of their demands was for me to prove I didn't have loans on other properties. I asked my loan rep to prove he didn't have a Learjet. Same story as everyone else; great credit, long time customer,SEVERAL loans/accounts with BofA. The documentation demands just never end. Rep said EZ qualify, but toughest process ever! Dozens of loans & none come close to these demands, including my very first loan and other B/A loans!
B of A ruined me!!!
Athelstane, WI | April 24, 2012
BofA had an offer to sell my home before foreclosure began. It sat there for over 3 months and never got accepted. Lost that offer and they finally accepted an offer that was $17.000 less. Now I have a $20.000 money judgement against me from my Home Equity Bank that never got included in the original and 2nd offer until it was to late or not enough to make them not come after me. BofA will not admit that they did anything wrong but has ruined me. Complained to CFPB who did nothing..
Unanswered complaints
Brookfield, IL | April 23, 2012
mortgages for both of my properties got sold to BofA from Countrywide. I then refinanced my primary residence & ran into several issues, which I won't detail, but in the survey BofA asked to fill out, I detailed 9 separate points that were either mistakes or info they failed to share that were critical to my decisions around the load itself. No one EVER contacted me in regards to these issues. If a company is going to request feedback and a customer takes the time to so clearly enumerate issues, ????
BOA Harp2 No problems
Stockton, CA | April 21, 2012
I started my HARP 2 refinace thru my current lender BOA on April 2, 2012. We are closing Monday April 23, 2012. No problems. It was easy peasy. I can't believe with all of the negative reviews on BOA, my loan was a breeze. We had a wonderful mortage loan officer, John Whiteside who took care of us. He always returned my calls and never left me hang. If I were you with all of the problems, I would look at a different lender. I feel really bad that you are having such issues, maybe call a supervisor
Los Angeles, CA | April 24, 2012
I am a current B of A mortgate holder. I am constantly being soliciated by them to refinance. I am in the process. The process began Jan 4, 2012. I am still waiting for the final loan documents to be completed. I have left voice mails and sent several emails to the supervisor in March and still do not have a reply. Not sure what is taking them so long, I have good credit, a stable job and a good payment history. I wish it was just as easy as "contacting a supervisor"
ALMOST 4 MONTHS-- REFINANCE STILL NOT CLOSED
Buford, GA | April 16, 2012
FHA loan. Non-owner occupied house. Ex-husband rents from me and my kids are there 1/2 time. BofA streamlining loan. Supposed to be easy. Government! Always needing something. Inept processors. Need to have $200 for closing. I have thousands of dollars in online sales but since they cannot "source" the money, I have to get gift letter? Escrow overage was going to be used for closing. They sent me refund check. I am done. Going to my credit union. They like to loan me money. BofA... take a hike!
Bank of America Stinks!
San Francisco, CA | April 08, 2012
I have been trying to refinance my property under the Harp 2.0 program through my current lender, Bank of America but they are the most irresponsible, inconsistent and demanding lender ever! This is my THIRD attempt trying to refinance with BofA, each time BofA rep saying something different and requesting something different. The gov't is bailing them out and yet they're making it really impossible to for responsible homeowners to refinance. Bank of America STINKS!
Worst experience of my life - NEVER GO TO BOA FOR A MORTGAGE!!!!!!!
Tewksbury, MA | April 06, 2012
I agree with pretty much every one else's reviews here. My husband and I applied for a mortgage (after we were pre-approved) in mid-February. It is now almost 2 MONTHS later...and still no approval! They told us it could take 30-45 days for approval...well it's been almost 60 days. We already had to ask for 1 extension from the seller, and looks like we'll have to ask for another. Our closing date is April 30th. We could lose our house over this. Nightmare.
Run! No help with HARP 2.0 re-fi (0 stars)
Jacksonville, FL | March 21, 2012
I have been dealing with these idiots for two weeks to re-fi our home. I have been lied to, chastised for disclosing that I intended to get quotes from other lenders, questioned as to WHY I wanted to see the 3 term/rate options in writing that the loan officer told me about over the phone, my questions were completely ignored, etc... They need to learn transparency & customer service skills.
Refi nightmare
Chino Hills, CA | March 15, 2012
I am soooo tired of the excusses. Trying to refi, endless unanswered phone calls and still we have gotten nowhere... The Feds can bail out these banks while honest, hard working, middle class americans get screwed!! I would not even put a star as a rating but it makes me
Plainfield, IL | April 02, 2012
I am sick.......took 10 months to close on a loan assumption after they kept asking for more and more documents. Then, we closed, paid our money, and now BOA has no record of the loan assumption!!
Wake up with nightsweats because Bank of America has terorized my life
Staten Island, NY | March 12, 2012
I asked for a 150k loan make 100k a year its been 7 months my loan is still under review they never pick up the phone when i call and are very vague they check my credit card care every 2 days they called my boss 10 times my boss is ticked off from them i am ticked off from them i am scared to purchase anything using my credit card if your looking for mental torture go to Bank of America
Save yourselves and RUN AWAY!
Pittsburgh, PA | March 08, 2012
Not enough room - summary: BA "You're late, we're foreclosing" US: "No we're not, here are receipts." BA: "Screw you, you're late." 110 HOURS LATER-BA: "Oops, we gave your money to someone else. We'll credit you." 10 HOURS LATER : Us: "Where is the credit?" 8 HOURS LATER: Us: Okay, here's the credit, but where is the reversal of the late fees? And have you contacted credit agencies as promised to wipe it from our rating? 2 MONTHS LATER: Bank of America hits our credit rating for 50 pts!
Go to Quicken
Mountain Lakes, NJ | March 08, 2012
If I can give any advice to all of you, it's to use Quicken for your mortgage. I did my last 3 refi's with them, and they are excellent. Very high tech, extremely customer service oriented, and responsive. I made the mistake of going with B of A because of a 25 basis point difference, and it was a bad decision. I'm going to correct that now by bailing on B of A and going back to Quicken.
January 09, 2013
Watch out! I got my loan through Quicken and they sold it to BofA. That's the only reason I have this 3rd rate financial institution as my lender.
Horrible Experience
Mountain Lakes, NJ | March 07, 2012
I have a FICO in the high 700's, a very high income, $500k equity in the house, a million plus asset portfolio, stable job. Made the mistake of picking B of A for a loan refi at just under $700,000. Has been the worst experience I've ever had with a refi. Endless trivial questions, poorly trained personnel. 60 days later and they're still working on it. If this is how they treat a top credit, hate to think about your experience if you're not. DO NOT PICK B of A for your refi!!! Clueless.
A bank of horror----NO STARS AT ALL < SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN>
North Las Vegas, NV | March 01, 2012
if you want a bank that will not care about customers and leave you in the street with out care, and take money that was given to them to help you got with BOFA is the WORST bank of the world SHOULD NOT B E IN BUSINESS< THEY ARE PLAIN ROBERS AND THIEVES>>>>>>>
Very un-professionall
Long Beach, CA | February 28, 2012
I also had problem with B of A. Like many of you I am soooo angry no word can describe it. I was just went for a simple fast tract refinance so they told me at first. It turns into 40 days then 65 days, empty promises got the run around, you got the picture. Now at 90 days no solid fact to when it actually close. Sooo peeved with these people!!!! Stay awy from B of A!!!!!!!!
No lien release
Willmar, MN | February 28, 2012
After having great difficulty getting a mortgage payoff number (5 calls over 2.5 hrs), I wired the full amount (overpaid so BOA had to refund $), now after 53 days I cannot get a lien release... Hard to believe good tax paying people like myself and others had to bailout this "talent" complete with bonuses to boot. First class corporate GREED describes BOA best!!!
Something nice about BoA is like trying to pick up a turd by the clean end!
Bend, OR | February 22, 2012
My wife and i have credit scores over 700, our home is valued at $800,000. (BoA appraisal), we owe $305,000. We have fixed retirement income from SS and military retirement. I went to BoA and asked for a refi, they said with my income I would qualify for $316,000. If I paid off my credit cards, so I did! I paid for an appraisal and a month later they said I was denied! Why? The reply was i just call and tell people they are denied! ????
Seekonk, MA | February 21, 2012
After almost 4 months of waiting to close a refinance, we were denied..I have never dealt with such incompetence !!! Does anyone out there have a phone number or email of someone with some authority in the mortgage dept at BOA? I just can't let this go.
Bank of America has a lot of refinance loan products
Clovis, CA | February 17, 2012
They are a big company and bloated, so its slow going - but they have a lot of great and very helpful people... you just have to work to find a nice and helpful loan officer who will pull for you.

You must work for BofA, and this post was a plant!
Be Prepared for a NIGHTMARE
Mcconnelsville, OH | February 16, 2012
Bank of America will turn your home buying experience into a nightmare. My husband and I have excellent credit. We have submitted page after page after page of supporting documentation. BOA sits on our information, sending it back and forth to some mysterious underwriter. We have to call them to receive updates on our loan (the whole process has been going on for THREE months already). The underwriter needs more documentation. It takes over a week for a rep to let you know. PURE AGONY! RUN!!!!
Don't Waste Your Time
Tucson, AZ | February 15, 2012
My husband and I both have excellent credit scores, both over 800. We applied for a 10 year refinance from BofA. The loan officer that turned us down, at the last minute, told me that they would qualify us for a 30 year mortgage, and my payments would be $500 a month less. Now just why would we be able to qualify for the 30 year, but not the 10 year.
BOA
San Antonio, TX | February 14, 2012
After 3.5 months of promises, BOA still has no answer on our refinancing. They are incompetent! All of the stories that I have read are so similar to ours. Go with a local bank.....or credit union.....I have had it with BOA! Minerva Sanchez
Largo, FL | February 21, 2012
3 months? I've been dealing with BofA since August 2011 and I have hired an attorney since the beginning. No difference. That's almost 7 months now. Nothing at all. Just keep waiting...
Worst Service!
Mooresville, NC | February 14, 2012
I have financed/refinanced with BOA 3 times in the past and I have never had the experience I have had with them now. I have been trying to refinance since November and I get one run around after another. I think they are purposely dragging it out so as not to have to give met he promised interest rates. And the loan officer is in FL, she speaks broken english and she is extremely non-responsive. I email and call and she doesn't respond. The government needs to step in & stop this nonsense!!!!!!!!
ABSOLUTELY Do not use BofA to get a mortgage
San Diego, CA | February 06, 2012
without going into all the details... the mortgage and underwriting departments are incompetent, unprofessional, and down-right rude. All the while assuring, in writing, that everything was fine,...with all our paperwork in their hands months before...they screwed things up. We lost our dream home because the mortgage contingency period was up and I certainly didn't trust these people to deliver on a closing in 6 days. Thank God I didn't lose my deposit. DO NOT USE THEM>>>THEY SUCK YOU IN
Refi BOA waste of time and money
Wakefield, MA | February 06, 2012
4 months ago began refi - upfront fee $400. Same story as everyone, great credit score, refi less than 20% of value, continually requesting duplicate documentation....finally today told by mtg officer that our application was closed out due to our non responses. I had faxed everything every time at a BOA Office and had the documents to prove it. Mtg officer says things got messed up, he doesn't know why...but agreed to refund our $. Doesn't know how long could take 2 weeks or 5 weeks. Not holding my breath!
Refinance
Charleston, WV | February 02, 2012
My husband just tried to do a refinance for our Bank of America home loan.He was shocked when the person on the phone actually told him they couldn't right now because they didn't have enough staffing. They could give him a hold number though. Seriously. I will never deal with B of A again after this if i can help it.

Huntsville, AL | June 25, 2012
Please!! I just paid off my house last week to get AWAY from Bank of Idiots!! Now I am worried they will find another way to screw me. I noticed today that my escrow is negative but the loan still not paid after being overnighted!! SERIOUSLY PEOPLE--AFTER BANK OF AMERICA BOUGHT MY MORGAGE FROM COUNTRYWIDE (I think they are the same company-Countrywide and Bank of America) WE HAVE GOT TO STOP DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! HOW ARE THEY DOING SO MANY PEOPLE WRONG AND GETTING AWAY WITH IT?? THEY ARE CROOKS!!!!!
Pittsburgh, PA | March 08, 2012
Please snd me one? Is this one you have sent to them or to governmental agencies? They are HORRIBLE.
Spring Valley, CA | February 14, 2012
I'd like a Complaint Form please. Just FYI, I've tried no less than *3* times to get a Loan Mod. Every time, it was a complete exercise in futility. You call and speak with one person at BofA and 20 minutes later if you call and speak to someone else, they will give you a different story. They are incompetent, uncaring and unprofessional. I do customer service for a living (Computer Tech Support) and if I treated my customers this way, I WOULD BE FIRED!
Beach Park, IL | February 06, 2012
I would like to get a copy of the complaint letter if you don't mind. We (my husband and I) tried to talk to Bank of America today about refinancing and they said we would have to check back in 30-90 days! I'm tired of wasting time trying to get answers.
Jackson, GA | February 01, 2012
I would also like a letter of the complaint. I recently went through NACA to modify my first mortgage, because BOA stated that they couldn't remodify until my first mortgage remodified. I have since read that that they can remodify if you qualify whether you remodified your first mortgage or not. My second mortgage interest rate with BOA is draining my savings what's left of it...
Salt Lake City, UT | January 29, 2012
Please send me a copy of your complaint against BofA. I have a high interest jumbo loan and don't qualify to refinance at other banks. I have sent in all the loan modification paperwork but don't get any response or returned calls and this has been going on for 6 months. When I finally get through they say they have to get to the other loans facing foreclosure first.
No Excuses
Naperville, IL | January 19, 2012
Understaffed processing centers and full pipelines are poor excuses for ignorance and incompetance!!! What ever happened to common curousies and respect to your clients?
Pittsburgh, PA | March 08, 2012
They have none.
Save Yourself the Headaches and Frustration - Find a Different Lender!!!
Naperville, IL | January 19, 2012
These reviews all read the same-poor customer service, lack of urgency, failure to recognize customers needs, unwillingness set/meet custs expectations. What BS!!! Now 90 days into a simple refi (less than 1/3 val of propery and FICO's > 820), no closing in sight. Loan officer refuses to give estimates as to how long this should still take/refuses to return our phone calls. Similarly, his boss consistantly promises call back with updates/fails to deliver. Absolute ignorance - how can they do any business?
Bank of America Doesn't Care!!!
Holbrook, MA | January 13, 2012
I'm trying to re-fiance with BOA,,I've had 3 Appraisels all of them inaccurate,,some where missing SQ FT some missing bedrooms, garages,,ect..pointing this out, BOA refused to do anything about it!!! I know how many rooms are in my house!!! Poor customer service!!!! Will NEVER use them again,,Neither should you!!!!!!
Refinance experience- had i known would have just done a re-cast and saved lots of $$$
Los Angeles, CA | December 07, 2011
we just refinanced in 11/11. I have a better quote in terms of interest rate and fees from citibank, but decided to use b of a instead due to mortgage is already with them ( courtesy of now defunct countrywide). our loan closed in less than 30 days, but was a bit disorganized: the notary came with her "friend" who helped her complete the forms, they kept asking for little things- new copy of W2, questioned why i had opened a card in the past 2 months ( which by the way had no balance on it), etc.
Deltona, FL | February 04, 2012
WOW 30 days! I am over 3 1/2 months and finally dumped them on a NEW purchase
The worst refi lender you can think of
December 06, 2011
its been over 3 months now since I started the process of refi with BoA. The worst experience ive ever had with a banking institution. in brief, I am still waiting to see what they will do, but I already started the refi process with another lender and I will be closing on it next week ( just two weeks after I started). I am also in the process of ending my 25 years relations with this TOO BIG TO FAIL institution by closing all my accounts with them ( about 4) and those of all my family members& relatives.
Nightmare Bank
Rancho Santa Marg, CA | November 22, 2011
I have had nothing but problems with B of A since the beginning. Now they are reporting my mortgage as discharged in bankruptcy court when I have never missed a payment. I don't know how long it will take to clear up THIS mistake. I'll never do business with them again! EVER!
Took over three months to close on a convention loan
Moore, OK | November 01, 2011
Selling a house in OKC. Buyers are putting down 1/3 in cash, financing the rest. They have all their accounts with BoA. BoA has drug them through the MUD. Keep telling us " we should close friday. Have heard this now for 3 MONTHS. I would not use BoA for ANYTHING. Avoid them like the plague.
Challenges With Processing Times
Beverly Hills, CA | October 27, 2011
If you read reviews of of all major lending institutions, they are all experiencing the same challenges with processing times. The whole world is taking advantage of these low rates and underwriting gudilines change almost daily which in turn cause delays because the banks want to make sure they are in compliance so... be patient and as long as you have good credit, equity in your home and consistent income, your loan should go through on a first in first out basis.
Pittsburgh, PA | March 08, 2012
With us they have flat out refused to sent a verification of mortgage.
Deltona, FL | February 04, 2012
What planet you on? They LIE LIE LIE, I am in a unique situation as my current home is a death trp (financed through BOA)Trying to get my family out for safety (sink hole) and the foot dragging relentless stupid questions about say a $50 deposit cash in my checking (among others). this flat out insane, I missed a 3rd extension lost the home along with a non refundable depoist of 8000. (Auction home). This was puhing 4 months before I lost all of that and still stuck in this death trap. am pulling everything I have left in there never to return and may just give them the keys to this house and walk away (value now only 25K after paying 200K back in 2003), I have done all the fight with insurance over the last 15 months and finally got a settlement enough to cover the loan. BUT should I reward BOA with this and be stuck with a home you ca not sell after MY hard fight and them costing me another home due to TOTAL incomptenace. Saying an issue with my credit report the day before closing & 2 months after the app, a mistake on Equifax report, and zero time to correct it. You DONT do that last you do that FIRST (credit report). No excuse for that NONE whatso ever. So please do not make excuses for them, I phave a hard time dealing with stupid and that is exactly what they are. I hate them and as some have said earlier, THEY SUCK!
Coventry Township, OH | November 30, 2011
You must work for BoA! I haven't heard of one mortgage or refinance going through smoothly! I have relatives who have tried for two years to get their loan refinanced. First they can't talk to this person because names not on loan; when that is taken care of, they can't talk to the second person because their name isn't on the loan! Since this is husband and wife who both originally signed the loan, I think BoA must have lost their ORIGINAL loan! If the signature thing can ever get handled, then they can't find your papers; when they find them, the loan has been sold; then it hasn't been sold; now it has (again). Then they can't talk to your lawer because they don't have your okay. When they have your authorized approval, they won't speak to your lawyer, then they tell him your loan was sold; nope, it wasn't...sorry about that; they just can't find the paperwork! Now a homeowner's insurance claim must go through BoA before the couple can get the proceeds to repair their home. Guess what? BoA says you are LATE with one payment (they originally said the couple had to be late to qualify for refinancing!) therefore, they will take ALL the money, pay the claim, and keep any leftovers to apply to the loan! Funny they can find the loan information now! These people are the most unprofessional, stupid, low-down dirty dogs EVER! Their Board of Directors, their CEO, their CFO, their VPs should be sent to HELL for running/mismanaging an organization this way! They should just shut their doors and pull the blinds. They are not doing a service for anyone except STEALING money and homes! We need to BOYCOTT BoA - All BoA mortgage holders - don't pay your mortgage; ignore their calls and letters; they can't foreclose on every loan! These people are TRASH!
BAC STINKS!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH BAC
Plano, TX | October 24, 2011
I have been waiting for more than 3 months to close my loan. They always ask some kind of documentation but they do not do any thing. In one sentence, Bank of America STINKS. I HATE THEM.
Wollaston, MA | February 15, 2012
I have been waiting 6 months for my mortgage refinance to close with BOA. I have excellent credit and no financial issues. I repeatedly had to give same paperwork. Closing date keeps being pushed out by them.
Stay Away from BofA!
Valrico, FL | October 18, 2011
After getting 2 re-financing good faith estimates from other banks, I decided to give Bank of America a shot at the re-fi too, since they are the current bank I have my loan with. I have an 812 credit score, zero credit card debt, both cars paid for, 2nd mortgage paid off, and over 20% equity in the property. I got on the phone with BofA and they seriously insulted me with the wacked out re-fi offer and "appraised" value, as if they actually did an appraisal. Long story short, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!
Purchase Loan Review from Bank of America Customer
Artesia, CA | October 05, 2011
People, please take my warning and dont go near BofA. I have been a loyal customer since the 70's. I decided to buy a vacation home with my hard earned savings. The loans has moved so slowly even after giving BofA everything I needed to qualify quickly. The loan officers make promises to get your business and then nothing happens. Today the seller of the house I am buying decided that Bank of America is so slow and so rude that she said "Find a different lender or I am backing out of this sale."
Buying a Mortgage From Bank of America Warning
West Covina, CA | October 04, 2011
Anyone thinking about starting a mortgage with Bank Of America may want to reconsider. With all the reorganization, lay offs, and government involvement Bank of America is going through, you may find the over worked mortgage specialist at Bank of America making a lot of mistakes and not making deadlines as promised on your closing costing you more money than you expected.. I just completed the loan process with Bank of America and some of the problems I faced were, No communication with me or inability for the loan specialist at Bank Of America to take messages., loan information going to an email address I never provided or used costing valuable time, in other words I never received some very important information, not making the closing date on time, this is one of the most important necessities of a mortgage purchase, this failure on Bank of America's behalf cost me the seller paid escrow fee of 1500 dollars, the whole process was horrible and this was a little mortgage for under 50K. Bank of America had me down for five and one half percent interest, most lenders are going for four and one half percent or under Its is more involved, what happens after your loan is approved, more than likely there will be more mistakes long term, you may have to deal with, lost payments, Bank of America changing addresses without notification, poor customer communication and many more variables. I pulled out of the loan the same day the documents were ready to sign and close, remember this was after the closing deadline, Bank of America offered me 1000 dollars to change my mine, I explained all the problems I had with this loan and no employee at this branch including the manager seemed to care.. They proved how fast they could work when they were loosing my account by getting the docs in at 9:30pm in order to save the account and make the second deadline. Do yourself a favor, the odds are against you. After all I was a 25 year customer, that doesn't mean much these days. Remember, you have to live with a mortgage for a very long time so do yourself a favor, shop around for the best, most honest deal you can find.
Bank of B.S.
Flint, MI | October 03, 2011
My best friend has been trying to modify her BofA loan for 18 months! This loan began as a Countywide loan, then sold to BofA. She calls continuously to check on the status of her modification, only to be told she needs to send in paperwork which was already sent in, and TWICE she was told her application was no longer in process because she told someone at BofA that she NO LONGER NEEDED THE MODIFICATION - BOLD FACE LIE. I'm trying to talk her into getting a lawyer - they are only messing with her.
Bank of America Refi review
San Diego, CA | October 03, 2011
We currently have our mortgage with BoA. they kept sending us letters to do a quick refi. I finally relented and started the process. What a joke, they told us what info they needed and when we provided it they would just ask for more. This went on for months, when they has our house appraised, it was over twice the amount we owe. The appraiser said the paint on the trim was peeling and BoA said I had to take time off work and paint my trim during the hottest month. After four months denied.
Referred to Directory Information for Area Code 312
Livermore, CA | September 28, 2011
I applied for a refinance to take advantage of current low mortgage rates in August, 2011. Current mortgage is with B of A and have been with them for 7 years. Credit score is 715. I received a form letter denying the loan refinance. An address was listed and a telephone number. I had some questions and called the listed number. THE PHONE NUMBER WAS 312-555-1212, THIS IS DIRECTORY INFORMATION FOR AREA CODE 312. They wouldn't even provide a real number for someone to talk to. UNBELIEVEABLE!
Morton Grove, IL | February 28, 2012
same situation here, denied my application after 8 months with a lot of lies in it. i have all voicemails and paperwork saved. anyone knows if there is any class action lawsuit against boa ? i would like to be a part of it. so upset and disrespected and discriminated by boa !
Very UNPROFESSIONAL and Unable to contact you with the correct persons, Very SLOW
Millington, TN | August 19, 2011
I started working with Bank of America for a refi in Aug of 2010 and they lost my paper work 4 times, showed I had never called, told me the paper work would be sent out in 5 days and called every Monday for 4 months and in Feb. of 2011 I received paper work after the rates had gone up. The people I spoke with was very Unprofessional and quick to judge you for asking questions. They were rude on the phone. DOn't use BofA for a refi loan.
Bank of America Home Loans Mortgage
Summerfield, FL | July 06, 2011
I did a simple assumption/quit claim deed to add my name on my mothers mortgage per instructions from Countrywide in 2002. 2008 Bank of America took over for Countrywide. May 2010 B Of A asks me to become the primary mortgage borrower. Dec 2010 Bank of America just deletes my name from the loan and tells me prove it was my loan. I send in 40 pgs of docs. They refuse to add my name back without a total refinance and doesn't even offer a simple assumption. Incompetent, rude, unprofessional and no level of customer service at bank of america. They don't know what they are doing in the mortgage division.
Bank of America Mortgage Frustrations for Clients.
Wentzville, MO | June 22, 2011
It is not surprising to find out that Bank of America currently has a HUGE class action law suit against them. Many home owners have similiar stories of them losing paper work, and dragging out simple processes like loan modifications. I have been disconnected half way though phone calls, and have to call back only to find out that the previous person didn't save anything we talked about. I actually had an employee tell be to fall behind on payments to qualify of for modifications. This seems unprofessional
Tuscaloosa, AL | August 16, 2011
I am so relieved to know that others are experiencing the same nonsense from BofA. I worked with them for MONTHS on a modification, only to have them request the same paperwork over and over again and then after all the months in the process being told that I don't qualify for the modification. I really want to know how one qualifies for their modifications because I know NO ONE who has been approved. I agree with the previous post that BofA would rather foreclose than work with homeowners, the same homeowners incidentally whose taxes BAILED OUT BofA.
Bank of America, not MY America!
Jacksonville, AR | May 16, 2011
I started out as a Countrywide customer and then ended of with BAC when they bought them out. I started back in 2008, trying to re-finance my 8.8% loan. BAC told me the program I bought my home with, no longer existed, so I was out of luck. I kept trying. Every time I called, I got the run around. Beginning in 2010, I had to start using my savings to pay my mortgage. In August of 2010, I applied for the Making Home Affordable Plan with the, strung me along till March, then told me no! THEY SUCK!
Campo, CA | March 10, 2012
I am dealing a point of contact with BOA by the first name of Robert. He is totally without knowledge and seems intent on stone walling me. Everything I ask him about he tell me, "no you are not eligible for that program." I read to him a letter telling me that I was conditionally eligible for Keep Your Home CA and that BOA would need to work with them. He tell me no you are eligible for that program. I seriously believe the man reads from a script and all he can say is no you are not eligible. I called CEO's office Customer Service 1 877 498 7226 and requested another point of contact. As of today I still have the less than nice Robert. I also sent a letter of concern to Federal Reserve Consumer Center and will fax another letter of concern to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau 855 237 2392. My first phone call to BOA resulted in me being on the phone for 2 hours and being transfered 9 times. That should have been a clue to me. Bank of America thinks I will give up and go away. Not going to happen +
Wentzville, MO | June 22, 2011
We have had the same struggle with Bank of America in getting a loan modification. They have lost our paper work for modification several times. We even faxed in the last set of documents and financials. Every time we call them we get a different answer. At this point I believe that Bank of America would rather people foreclose than offer them any assistance in modifying their loan. I will never be a Bank of America customer again.
Assumption
Almont Twp, MI | May 04, 2011
There was no reason that u couldn't have taken into consideration that hard times have fell on everyone lately. There was no way we would have been neglegent on our payment. A simple letter from us could have been requested. A hardship and you knew we have been the ones paying for this loan to begin with. D.Day Almont,mi.
UNPROFESSIONAL service on B of A Refinance
Costa Mesa, CA | January 26, 2011
I am in the midst of a home refinance and am flabbergasted by the horrendous service I have received from Bank Of America on my refinance mortgage loan. My refinance is a simple one with no problems on my side, yet we are now three months past the date they said it would be completed. I can't get a hold of the processor, the sales person, sales manager, no one. It's ridiculous and extremely UNPROESSIONAL for B of A Refinance. If I was this inept in my job, I would be fired a long time ago. I am dissapointed in B of A.
Deltona, FL | February 04, 2012
Can I get that number to escalate my loan please! I have been with BOA for over 20 years and never ever late on my mortgages, have purchased 3 homes and refi'd about 8 times since 1981. But the process how it is done now (last time was 2004) is the most stressful experience I have ever dealt with in getting the biggest purchase of your life. Below is quick summary of what I am dealing with and need to get someone with a clue (if possible) at BOA to right the wrongs and damage they have caused me and my family. I too have dealt with the biggest idiots I have ever seen in any loan in my life. After waiting and waiting, the DAY BEFORE the closing date the underwriter said there was an issue with my credit report (only on Equifax which had 8 errors). How on earth was I to get those corrected in 24 hours? They had my App on their desk for 2 months! Yet the LAST thing they did was check credit? Long story short, the auction home I was to purchase is gone and my NON refundable down payment of 8K is also gone due to incompetence of the highest level. I currently have a home we are trying to get out of as it is on a sink hole, the danger level is off the charts being stuck here, the insurance company FINALLY settled after bringing in attorneys (cost of 1/3 plus of the settlement) and leaves me with a un repairable home, people getting hurt going through the ground. BOA did nothing over the course to help me in my fight with the insurance company after many denials. I will get minimal IF I pay off the current mortgage to start a new but with the loss of 8K it pretty much will take us out of the market of a comparable home. I would like to get my 8K back as it was NOT my mistakes that made me miss the closing date it is 100% theirs and should be held accountable. Honestly I should just walk away from this home for a few reasons, the home I am in is worthless, cannot sell it at all. I did the fight with no help to get the amount that would cover the balance of the mortgage not them and should I reward BOA with that after them costing me another 8K, my equity in the home and the safety of my family in leaving me trapped in a home that you can’t now insure and a danger to anyone living here. I don’t think that is fair at all. I know I would get a 7 yr. hit on my credit, but a point should be made you don’t reward idiots who put you in harm’s way and costs you severely financial losses. Even if I was to get my 8K deposit back it sets us back at least another 4 plus months to find another home, most likely a higher cost and keeping us hostage in a home where there is a chance we can get killed staying here. On the process on the loan something’s that they are doing (in asking for documentation) is so absurd and invasion of privacy there is NO CHANCE after this I would ever buy another home in this country again. I am 54 and would stay till retirement and after that GET OUT of this place as it is ONLY for the elite rich and screw every single person other than that. You do things the right way and this how you are treated and getting worse buy the day. No thanks not the way I want to live my final days. Thanks
Plano, TX | November 27, 2011
i am in the midst of refinance with bofa and my situation is 100% just like yours. please could you give me the phone number to corporate where you found some luck.
Ventura, CA | January 30, 2011
I had the same problem. I supposedly had a 90 day lock on the rate. Excellent credit, high FICO scores, no major bills except for the Bank of America 1st mortgage and a high unused B of A Line of Credit. This was my 5th mortgage refi with B of A in 20 years. Nothing happened during the first 75 days, except that I found out when I finally got the number to contact the processor that items needed were "missing." From there I kept reaching the next level of incompetent personnel. I was then notified that a full appraisal (the original was a drive-by) was needed. Nine days before "closing" the full appraisal was completed. The "closing date" was quickly approaching and I found out that the loan was being held up in underwriting but there was no explanation. It took several calls to get to underwriting and at that I had to go to the supervisor level to get an answer and resolution from underwriting. The "closing date" came and went. I finally called the CEO at the corporate office and was referred to Mortgage Customer Service at the corporate office. This escalated the process of my refinance. Well, sort of. With the exception of one supervisor who went on medical leave, I had to deal, for the next 6 weeks, with the most incompetent, non knowledgeable people who started blaming the escrow (not B of A's)for not getting the numbers correct. It turns out B of A had the wrong numbers and when the time came to finally sign escrow papers, B of A had not even prepared or sent the subordination of the HELOC and a modification agreement that had been set 6 weeks earlier. I did get everything signed 4.5 month after starting the process. My last phone call was again to corporate who is, I was told, looking into the matter of charges that should have been credited and the incompetence. You can call B of A corporate and ask to be transferred to mortgages - but Bank of America is just inefficient and not good at customer service.
Bank of America was good, but slow and sometimes unresponsive.
Portola Valley, CA | November 25, 2010
We got our purchase loan through Bank of America, since we bank with them and it seemed the easiest. Our loan officer was nice, but even she told us she was overworked and was pretty slow to respond to our needs and requests. Sometimes we were worried about hitting our closing date, and when we hit closing we realized that we were paying more on our interest rate than we could have gotten if we'd shopped around, but it got done so we are generally pleased.
Springfield, MA | October 21, 2011
I too went through Bank Of America because i had checking accounts with them. My lender was slow going through the process and never provided me with correct information. I ended up going with country bank and was very pleased with the speedy service
Chicago, IL | December 05, 2010
I too tried to refinance my mortgage loan with Bank of America, since I have my checking account with them and also my last mortgage. They were really slow and I found a better rate (actually with Chase) when rates lowered during the process and I finally gave up on bank america.

Interesting, I guess you're one of the lucky ones... I was unemployed in 2010 and tried to refinance under the HARP program, but was told by BOA that I did not qualify since I was up to date on my payments. In 2012, still making my payments, I again tried to refinance under the HARP 2.0 program and was told that even though I qualify under the HARP 2.0 they (BOA) can't do a refinancing under HARP 2.0 since BOA had paid the inspection worth $200 back when I had originally closed on my home in 2005 and therefore needed to come up with $40k which is the amount that is currently underwater. I explained that all I would like to do is to refinance what I owe to a lower interest rate. BOA's replay was firm and said that even though I qualify for HARP 2.0 BOA will not refinance me under the program because of the $200 they paid for the inspection.
