This bank is only concerned about your money. They are rude, unprofessional, and should be avoided at all costs. I wish it were possible to give "0 Stars" on this rating site. A negative rating would more accurately reflect the joke of an organization that is Flagstar Bank.

I have been attempting to get a LOAN MODIFICATION to my mortgage under the "Making Homes Affordable Act" since June 10, 2009. I have submitted reams of records and statements. I asked for an expeditious response on January 15th, 2010 as I was increasingly in need of assistance. The last 4 - 5 months I have been informed by the banks LOSS MITIGATION Dept. that my paperwork was completed and I would be contacted for resolution within the next 30 days. It is now Sept. 20, 2011 and I am still waiting. (NOTE: Check your dictionary! I asked for a loan modification meaning I wanted my loan modified, or changed; They put me in loss mitigation, which means making their loss less harsh! It's just CYA for the bank!!!This bank is not responsive to the needs of it's customers. Avoid at all costs!!!!!

I have a mortgage payment due today and called to make the payment and was advised that their software is being updated and not available today, the 16th of the month and mortgage payments are due. I believe this to be another tactic by these guys to force late fees onto each customer who makes their payments on the last date possible. My excuse, was traveling and just returned home after being out for three weeks. Their excuse - inexcusable

I had not received last months mortgage coupon in the mail and payment was coming due shortly. Had to call customer service and after 26 minutes waiting found out that computer upgrade in progress and many people had not received these coupons. I sent payment to them and received the computer generated coupon AFTER payment would already have been late. Their customer service is very poor. I would not recommend anyone deal with Flagstar Bank.

Worst Service! Drag their feet to make it more expenseive for you!

Rude, unprofessional, liars. Misapply payments, don't pay insurance from escrow, keep you on hold for at least an hour.
