I recently noticed Regions Bank out of St. Charles/St. Peters MO was taking $18.00 a month in fees out of an inactive class reunion non profit account. For an est. 4 years the account did not have any fees and maintained the min. needed for no fees to be charged. They increased the min. amount to avoid fees from 500 to 2,000. I was informed of this change after they pulled over $150 out of the account. They don't send monthly statements. They would only refund $13.00. Bad Business,Fraud & SCAM!

Banks are required by federal and state law to notify customers of changes to their accounts. They also mail new deposit agreements to customers when this happens. The bank will send letters weeks beforehand allowing you time to look at your options. Chances are the address on the account was incorrect or not changed, and you did not receive the letters. This includes monthly statements too. It is the customer's responsibility to notify the bank if they are not receiving statements or other information so they can correct the issue. Also, if you were not getting statements, how would you know that you have not had fees on the account for 4 years? If you kept up with that for so long, why did you not question the fees once they started? Sounds fishy.
