Excellent customer service. Honest, efficient loan officers

Very few retail branches. The loan process is done all over the phone, making for a slightly less personal experience.

Just finished Refinancing

by | February 13, 2014
Well this review is ending on a Happy note Thanks to Michael Dreapeau. The start and middle were rocky but final strech when he took over our case went pretty smooth. I was very pleased with his response time and great customer service skills. Would definitely recommend Emery to Friends and Family

It was absolutely my pleasure

I want to personally thank to Satina Gulati,Loan Officer, in Mortgage Division. what a wonderful person, very happy, positive attitude and great knowledge. She had answered all my questions, all my concerns and make it really easy to understand all papers that I have to sign. She work very fast, I did not have to call her, she always call me and inform me about every step that she take forward with my application, provided updates on everything.I feel like we became a good friends, I appreciate her help.

Very Happy Customer

by | February 3, 2014
I recently had the opportunity to work with Satina Gulati of Emery Federal Credit Union to obtain a cash out refi on an investment property. She handled our transaction with complete confidence from start to finish. I would highly recommend her to anyone considering a refi or purchase, and I look forward to doing business with her and Emery again soon.

Couldn't ask for a more professional Loan Officer.

by | December 21, 2013
Just refinanced my house with a VA Streamlined Loan. From the initial contact with me from Timothy Brice to closing was less than a month. Mr. Brice is a true professional. He kept me informed of every step in the process. There were no surprises. The best word I can think of to describe my transaction... Flawless. Would recommend Emery FCU to anyone. Just remember to contact Timothy Brice. He took care of me and I'm sure he will take care of you.

Satina Gulati Really Cares and Deserves 5 Stars

by | December 8, 2013
Satina Gulati helped me get my loan and was there every step of the way. As we all know, there is so much documentation and time involved in getting all your ducks in a row. Satina went above and beyond my expectations and she made it happen! She is so pleasant, professional and reliable. I highly recommend her service when asked which Loan Officer to use. Hetty Vazira

Awesome Experience

by | December 6, 2013
I purchased my second home and used Emery Federal as my mortgage company. My agent was Satina Gulati who was recommended by a friend. She was extremely helpful with my VA loan. She was always available to answer questions. I would highly recommend her to anyone whether it is for a VA loan or any other type of loan. She made me feel at ease even when I had many questions. She went out of her way to give me personalized attention. Ask for Satina, you will not be disappointed.

Best Experience I have had / Ask for Satina Gulati

by | December 6, 2013
This was my third home purchase and was by far the best experience with a Mortgage Company out of the three. My agent was Satina Gulati and she was extremely helpful and was always quick to respond to questions. I had an extremely complicated situation due to the fact that I was activated to active duty military as a member of the national guard but was trying to purchase a home to move in to when I transitioned back to civilian life. I did everything by correspondence. If I buy another home I will use them.

Satina Gulati deserves more stars!

by | November 10, 2013
They only let you give five stars, but Satina did such a great job for us that she deserves more! We had lots of questions about the VA loan we used to purchase our first home and she always answered our questions quickly. Our loan was processing just as rates were starting to rise and Satina was able to get us a half percent lower than any of those phony, get-you-in-the-door scams. Satina was very professional and worked in a timely manner to make sure everything went smoothly. We highly recommend Satina!

Satina Gulati @ Emery Federal Credit Union

by | September 30, 2013
I am a Realtor and work with Satina Gulati to refinance my own home, She was outstanding! Satina was so wonderful, I have recommended her to all my clients, who have had nothing short of a great experience. Satina is honest, dedicated and truly goes above and beyond for her cleints. She becomes more then your loan officer, Satina a person you grow to love and depend on. Great Loan officers are very difficult to come by, Satina exceeds all expectation!!!

Bait and Switch

by | August 22, 2013
Be very aware of using Emery Federal Credit Union for a home loan. They will tell you one thing and then at closing you will see the loan amount increased with fees that were not disclosed to you on your initial good faith estimate.

Ask for Satina!!

by | August 1, 2013
From start to finish Satina Gulati was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and available. She returned our emails promptly and always exceeded our expectations for customer service. The EFCU's pricing was on par or lower than other institutions. We are very happy with the entire process and encourage others to choose Satina @ EFCU. Good luck!

I would like to thank Brian Callan, and Emery Federal Credit Union for making our refinance so easy. It took one month to do. Two months of no payments and a rate of 3.75 fixed. No one else could offer us better. Any time that I had questions , Brian responded promptly, even if it was very late his time. I would recommend BRIAN and EFCU again and again. THANK YOU .

Difficult refinance achieved; Emery was our hero

by | July 17, 2013
Bobby Babcock at Emery in Maryland executed a very complicated and work-intensive refinance for us. Our original loan had LPMI, which many refi lenders won't touch. And we were underwater. And it was Freddie Mac-backed. Bobby made it work, with good clear communication, good follow-up, zero BS, and great availability, even taking a phone call from me late in the evening while I was signing papers with the notary. We are now saving nearly $350 a month, making us big fans of Emery FCU.

Harp Refinance taking 6 months

by | June 11, 2013
I have been waiting 6 months to refinance our home through Emery FCU using the HARP refinance program. It has now been over 6 months since the beginning of our process and our loan still has not closed. It has been very frustrating. Enough said.

Great and unbelievable

by | June 6, 2013
I ttalked to Adam Charney who clearly and professionally explained the process to me. It seemed unbelievable to me because Chase, the mortgage holder I had for 8years, not only did not care to refinance my loan but also gave me the wrong info. I had equity in the home, steady employment, and a credit score over 820. I ended up saving $470 monthly which in less than a year will pay for the closing costs. Closing took place in lless than two months; property in New Jersey; as happy as one can be.

I just completed my refinance with Emery Federal Credit Union & Satina Gulati. This was my 4th refinance and to date, and my best experience with a broker or company. Satina is knowledgable, courtious and an extremely detailed broker. She was able to suggest different loan options that best fit the needs of my refinance. Satina was very available and kept me informed of every step in the process. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Satina Gulati and Emery Federal.

Debbie Stubblefield knows her stuff!

by | May 28, 2013
After purchasing a couple homes and refinancing a few more times, I've had my share of mortgage experiences. Recently we were able to refinance with the help of Debbie Stubblefield through her website: www.mortgageinfonow.com . Her organized approach and expertise ensured that there would be no surprises and allowed us to quickly and easily close. Debbie was responsive and always showed patience with questions we had. I will contact Debbie if we ever have a mortgage need in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Emery Federal and Josh Jurkovich

by | March 26, 2013
My husband and I just completed a refinance on our home loan to take advantage of lower interest rates and were vert happy with the service we got from Emery and Josh Jurkovich. Everything was explained very well to us and he was always a pleasure to speak with on the phone. I would recommend they be used by anyone!

Joshua Jurkovich and Emery Federal Credit Union

by | February 21, 2013
Just closed a home refinance working with Josh Jurkovich of EFCU. There were challenges provided by 3rd party lenders that Josh was working my file through. During the period, I received the type of professional service that one hopes for but does not commonly get today. Josh is very professional, well informed, results oriented, and represented EFCU well. We need to clone him.

Excellent Service!

by | February 20, 2013
We received the letter in the mail from EFCU stating that we can lower the interest rate and pay no closing costs. It sounded too good to be true, but I called to find out. I spoke with Dennis Stuntz who ended up being our loan officer. Honest, efficient and easy to work with. He got us a rate of 3.75% with no out of pocket for closing cost! Emery got our loan closed in 5 weeks, no gimmicks, no pain...Done!

Hard Working Loan Officers Make Customers Happy

by | February 20, 2013
I have closed VA refinancing loan last Friday on terms better than the initial GFE. How is that for a surprise? My appreciation goes to my loan officer, Mr. John Pasquariello. He fought hard with the underwriters on my behalf. Only John's efforts and customer-friendly attitude kept me from walking away after unexpected delays that were beyond John's and Emery's control. I gave Emery FCU five stars because I am very happy with the service and terms.

not happy

by | February 19, 2013
This is the worst credit union. The loan process was way too long for a VA streamline. It took just over three months to close on a re-fi which normally takes about three weeks. The original person you deal with, who claims he will not hand you off to another person, did just that. not hearing back from this credit union was the worse besides the length of time to process a loan. When doing a VA streamline loan, income verification is not needed. We had to fax our verification of income.

We, Emery, as a Broker, are also at the mercy of the Lender, in this case Freedom Mortgage. The reason we submit to them is because under the Federal Law (Dodd-frank) we are obliged to offer the company that publishes the best rate and terms available at the time of the Application. However, once a lower rate is published, the Lender is inundated with applications and invariably slows down. The alternative is to go to another lender, but if time and resources have already been spent, the decision is to “soldier on” in the hope of a timely closing. In this instance, the Lender further required the income verification, which they can waive under this VA program, but as a Lender, can require, to establish the Borrower’s reasonable ability “to pay down the loan subject to the Loan rate and terms”. As to "handing off" the Loan, every Loan Officer utilizes a Processor to administer the file and the processor is part of the origination team. The Processor assembles the required documentation for the loan Officer.

Emery Federal Credit Union values our customers and will review and respond to any feedback sent to help@emeryfed.com.

Honest and nothing but the truth!

by | February 17, 2013
After several quotes, Emery's FCU, Debbie Stubblefield, made us an offer we couldn't believe. We initially were hesitant and asked MANY questions. Debbie assured us there were no gimmicks, hidden fees, or charges that would surprise us in the end. She also made herself available throughout the process even with the time difference. Now we have a 3.25 interest rate (down from 5.75), all closing costs were covered by lender credit, and we are saving $500 a month. We had to be patient, but it was worth it.

Excellent Service on my FHA Streamline!

by | January 28, 2013
I received the letter in the mail from EFCU stating that I can lower my interest rate and pay no closing costs. It sounded too good to be true, but I called to find out. I spoke with a young man named Tony Deshan who ended up being my loan officer. He walked me through the program and was very easy to work with. I ended up getting a rate of 3.25% and enough credit to cover all my closing costs! Emery got my loan closed in 28 days and I was able to skip 2 months of payments and save $300 monthly!

HARP Refi...Finally someone was able to help

by | December 19, 2012
I want to express my gratitude to John McCelland, Adam Ellis, and Moses Cohen for their help with my refinance under HARP 2.0. When HARP 2.0 rolled out I contacted Emery Federal Credit Union and spoke to John McCelland, who with the help of Adam and Moses were finally able to refinance my mortgage, putting an end to a nightmarish battle that started almost 3 years ago with Bank of America. Emery Federal Credit Union was able to do a HARP 2.0 Refi that I was told by many was next to impossible. Thanks guys!

by | December 10, 2012
Initially, I called the Loan Officer 30 minutes after the Notary was suppose to have showed up he said he would find out what the problem was and call me right back, an hour passed before I called him a second time, he stated that he was checking with his manager; the notary didnt show up 4 hours later and I never got that call back until 4 days later. I tried to reschedule the appointment for another date and same thing happened again. I dont trust this Loan Officer and not sure why EFCU does.

by | December 4, 2012
My experience was EXACTLY like David M's below. The only difference is that after messing around with them from March to October, I did fire them and contacted Quicken Loans. We are closing our refinance tomorrow, 30 days from the start of our paperwork as promised. Save yourself some major headaches, go with an online lender that can actual handle the process quickly and professionally: Quicken Loans!

by | November 15, 2012
Jeff Hutchison was fantastic through my refi. From the loan application, rate watch, processing and ending with the closing he was always on top of it all answering my questions and helping me make the right decisions. I was apprehensive about trying out a lender that I found online, but I am glad I did. I asked for five star service, and that is what I got. There was not a day that he did not respond promptly to an inquiry that I sent. Jeff and his team made this process a great a great experience.

Home Refinance under HARP - very unprofessional

by | October 29, 2012
We had an opportunity to refinance our home through Emery Federal Credit Union (based in OH) working with William McVay, one of their many loan officers. The loan process started off positive, William would call us about once a week to inform us of the loan progress, initiate small talk and request information for the refinance application and process. The further along we got into the loan process, he stopped returning our phone calls or e-mails, we had to reach out to get an update about our loan status. We discussed using our closing title company several times - documented in several e-mails and William still conveniently forgot our conversation and presented the truth and lending statement with their our own closing title company which was $2k higher. William also conveniently forgot that we wanted to put a substantial amount towards the existing loan balance to reduce our mortgage payment. It would seem like bad business practice that he would convey the incorrect amount on purpose to gain a higher commission based on the refinanced loan amount. Somehow, it was communicated to their underwriter to put only ½ of the substantial amount we requested towards the loan. After discussing with William on several occasions, the only thing that stuck with me is that any changes would have to go back to their underwriter which could extent the quoted 6 week (based on our application and approvals) refinance loan process to our going on 5 months. During the interim, William’s boss contacted us as a customer service call to follow-up on William since the Harp program was going to end. We shared with Adam Ellis, the issues we were having with William, his lack of correspondence and no follow-through. Adam corrected our closing title company issue and used our company which saved us $2k. We had to reach out to William for a settlement closing date in order to wrap this up to prevent the refinance process from going into 5 months. After all of our frustration in dealing with William McVay, we ended up closing on the loan with the incorrect loan amount. Per William, he stated that we could still reduce our loan by applying the other ½ of the down payment (that was never applied), before our first mortgage payment was due - we could go to the bank and put the remaining down towards the new loan and the bank would recalculate our new mortgage payment. Well, as no surprise our personal banker attempted to call William and his boss, Adam Ellis, on numerous occasions to get a contact name of their underwriter and as usual no response back - Very Unprofessional. STAY AWAY from McVay. Just plain bad business practice. I am sure not all loan officers from Emery Federal Credit Union operate like this; we just had one that seemed to conveniently forget, perhaps to his advantage.

A very happy client with the West Bloomfield, MI Office

by | October 10, 2012
We had a conventional loan took cash out. We got a great rate and closed in 3 weeks. Our loan officer Brendawas great and we highly recommend her. We would use her again and we sent 3 other friends to her. She knows her job well. Emery Federal took very good care of us. Thank you again for all your hard work. C.C.N.

Great Experience!

by | October 4, 2012
I just recently worked with Debbie Stubblefield to close an FHA Streamline Refi on an investment property. Debbie was very knowledgeable, thorough, prompt, and pleasant. It wasn't unusual to receive an email or phone call from her on nights & weekends. The closing went smoothly and all amounts/time frames quoted by Debbie along the way were accurate. This was by far the best loan closing I've had (compared to other lenders) and will be sure to contact Debbie in the future. I highly recommend her.

by | October 2, 2012
Started refi paper work in March..told would close by Apr 15. Paper work completed and sent to Underwriters..Sent back because of missing paper work. Obtained missing paperwork and resubmitted...Underwriting sent back again for something processer was supposed to have done..this continued on for four tries in Underwriting. Pretty soon my processer Starcia stopped taking my calls and I have not heard from them at all since mid August. It is now October..enough is enough...YOU ARE FIRED!!!

Great Experience

by | September 26, 2012
My husband and I have had a great experience working with Emery Federal Credit Union. Every part of the process went exceptionally smoothly and far exceeded our expectations. (Our expectations were low, because the loan process can be so difficult.) Our loan officer was Debbie Stubblefield, she was constantly available, knowledgeable, and one step ahead of us. We closed on time, at a rate we were quoted, and a payment we were promised. Pleasure working EFCU and Debbie.

by | September 12, 2012
Debbie Stubblefield was our loan officer, and we were able to get a streamline fha mortgage with a 3.75 interest rate, bringing our mortgage payment from 1650 a month to 1180!! We had to bring 261 dollars to closing and we were able to miss our Sept and October mortgage payments. I truly cannot recommend Debbie highly enough. During the process we exchanged close to 100 emails sometimes in the early morning hours. Endlessly patient, dedicated and well informed, and willing to fight for us. Amazing!

So Pleased!

by | August 31, 2012
We just received a home loan thru Emery Federal Credit Union. We were so pleased with Bob Zelina's assistance and professionalism. The complicated maze of securing a loan in today's economy was eased tremendously by Bob's kindness and knowledge. I am very grateful for Bob's help and wanted you to know directly from me.

Never again

by | August 25, 2012
We started the refinance process with Emery CU in Feb 2012. In April they said they needed to change our preferred 30 year fixed rate to a 7 year ARM. Not wanting to pay for another appraisal we agreed. Sure felt like bait and switch but we felt we didn't have a choice. It has now been 4 more months - 7 months total. We have no idea when our loan will close. When we ask they say these things take time. I also are very poor at keeping us informed of where we are in the process. Beware!

Never again

by | August 24, 2012
We began talking with Paul at Emery in Feb 2012. They said we should have no problem getting a 30 year fixed loan. We have great credit. In April they said we could only qualify for an ARM. We really felt this was bait and switch. We said OK anyway. It is now the end of August and we have no idea when we will be closing. It has been over 6 months since we started talking to them. They do not keep in contact. When we ask them how much longer, they say "These things take time". I would choose someone else.

Well, it has been another 34 days and: No closing date, no idea how much money we need to bring to closing, they just charged (without our permission) another 150.00 to our credit card to pay for a drive by appraisal since it has been sooo long the old one was out of date. They always say 2 more weeks. That has been the case for the last 4 months. Their delay has caused us to loose about 2500 so far in extra loan mortgage payments over what we would have paid if we would have closed in a reasonable time. It has been 7 very long months.

Yep - it has been almost another month. Still no idea when we will close or how much money we need to bring. Isn't there somewhere you can report these folks It has not been since Feb 2012. They also have not said they would reimburse us for the 150.00 they took out of our bank account without authorization for a drive by appraisal update. That was needed because it had been more than 6 months since our appraisal. We are debt free except out house and have never had a late house payment (in 34 years). These folks are the awful.

Extremely poor

by | August 3, 2012
I submitted my paperwork to refinance with them and Oh! My God this is been a nightmare. I submitted my papers on April and we are in August. Not only that, when I try to contact them by e-mail, they never answer. They are the worst bank I have ever made business with

Great Great Experience

by | July 31, 2012
I have been in the industry for many years and went with the bank that offered me the very best program. Emery Federal not only lowed my rate but was able to decrease my loan size right before closing. It saddens me to read some of these comments below from ignorant borrowers. The fact that these loan programs are even available is a miracle. I guess you really have to understand the industry to really appreciate these programs. Emery ROCKS!

by | July 26, 2012
Just thought I would give my 2 cents, I have submitted the same paperwork time and time again. We were told not to make our current house payment and I didn't as a result I had to pay an $80 fee to my bank for late charges. The closing has been pushed back 2 weeks now and empty promises have been made. They are useless, incompetent, unreliable, and not to be trusted. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME...THEY ARE HORRIBLE!!

Bad experience

by | July 26, 2012
They totally misrepresent themselves! They sell your loan so fast, you don't know who to pay. At the last minute the told me I needed to come up with 2100.00 for current month mortgage which I don't understand why that was not included in the payoff amount from current company. I don't know how they sleep at night.

VA Refi

by | June 29, 2012
One of the worst experiences i've had dealing with any company. Started refi in Oct 2011 and in mid May 2012 switched to new mortgage company and i am closing next week.Got a great rate and far superior service.Got tired of excuse after excuse and lack of communication from the person i was dealing with. Also having to send multiple copies of the same paperwork. They say you learn from your mistakes, believe me this was a huge one.

If we didn't find another lender we would have lost our house

by | June 29, 2012
Emery FCU is just a middle man. Our loan officer, Rocco gave us so much bad advice that we are lucky to be closing with a different lender and came extremely close to not closing at all. We were pre-approved, and well qualified, just complicated because of being self-employed. Please do yourself a favor and go w/ a mortgage company that fincances in house. Emery uses Quicken Loans and in our experience, there didn't seem to be any communication at all between our loan officer and Quickens.

Thought it was good?

by | May 29, 2012
I started the Refinance process the beginning of April 2012 and it is now almost June and I haven't heard a word from Rocco in 15 days. What a Joke. He told me he has know idea how long it will take, maybe 2 to 4 weeks he said on May 15th. I started thinking that Emery FCU was a scam and just wanted all my info so I searched and found this place. Seriously what is taking so long, what is actually happening?

FHA Streamline Refinance with Emery Federal Credit Union (FCU)

by | April 14, 2012
I recently competed a FHA Streamline Refinance with Senior Loan Officer, Jeff Hutchison at Emery FCU. The refinance process was done via phone, fax, e-mail and Federal Express. It was a pleasure to work with Jeff Hutchison. The fees quoted were accurate and Jeff was always responsive to my questions. I would recommend that you specifically ask to work with him. Here's a link to the credit union website: http://www.emeryfcu-mortgage.org

by | April 11, 2012
I began a refi process with Emery in mid Decemeber 2011. It's now mid April and I still can't get a straight answer on when we will close this basically simple refi. Eric has asked for every document except my 2 year olds tax return. Now, it's "the delay is due to the banks being very careful," or "it's the end of the month..." emery sucks. Just save yourself the heartache and a lot of time by calling banks yourself. I'm sorry I ever tried Emery!

stay away

by | March 29, 2012
You are wasting your time if you selected this bank to assist with your mortgage. Once you submit your paperwork..goodbye communication. The loan officer I used was contact me multiple times a day to get my paperwork submitted. After spending 2 days putting it all together and submitted..well it's been over a month and I haven't gotten a response. Did I mention he doesn't answer his phone anymore either? Don't bother

Emery Home Loans was EXCELLENT!!! Highly Recommend!

by | March 13, 2012
I was very happy in dealing with these folks...surprised to see these reviews all across the board like this, but I can say that they backed up everything they said they would when I first talked to them on the phone and it only took 3 weeks to close, where my local bank said it would take 2-3 months. I dealt with Paul and Deb over there and everything worked out brilliantly! I would definitely recommend.

I recently completed a streamline mortgage refinance of my FHA mortgage with Emery FCU. The process was done completely via phone, fax and email. The key was for me to provide a complete package of the requested information by my agent, Jeff Hutchison. The process went pretty much on the schedule I was given by my agent Jeff. I am in the process of doing more refi's with Jeff and Emery FCU.

Emery Federal Credit Union FHA Streamline Refinance in MI

by | March 1, 2012
I recently finished a 3 week streamline refinance of my FHA mortgage with Emery FCU. This process was completely painless and was done completely via phone, and email. With modern technology (Computers, scanners, telephone, and email) anyone should be able to complete a mortgage purchase or refinance without setting foot in a branch. With a constant open communication line, my mortgage processor Jeff (jhutchison@emeryfs.com) and I got things done quickly and efficiently. (I am not affiliated with Emery FCU)

My experience was very positive and I credit the Mortgage Broker I had (Jeff H.)for it. He was professional, pleasant, caring, returned my calls and emails promptly. He got me a great rate and my closing was in about a month or a little more. I have refinanced a home in the past and it was a terrible experience. This one was a good experience. My closing was on a Friday and on early the next day (Sat.) my door bell rang and I had a delivery of my closing documents in a nice bound binder.

FHA Streamline Refinance

by | March 1, 2012
I worked with Jeff Hutchison to refinance my condo. He did a fabulous job. It is a little scary sending your financial information to someone you have never seen before, but I assure you that you are in good hands. I got such a good rate that I don't think I need to refinance again. The cherry on top was the lender credit. It helped pay down the loan and offset other costs.

Hello, I hope you guys read this before deciding on using Emery Credit Union. I have had to jump through hoops without any communication by my loan officer. He doesn't return calls, he wont even email me. When a customer has a question he or she should get answers. I regret using this company and if anyone of you have a question on what to do if you are unsatisfied about this company then feel free to call me at 5863544542. I will help those who are dealing with VA loans or refinances with the VA. I have enough of these fly by night companies acting like they work for the VA.

Worked with Kevin Weaver from Emery. We communicated back and forth our expectations. I told him what it would take to earn my business. He made it happen. That's all I need.

I have been working with Stephen Harris for the past 4 months on a loans and I too have been put off, I got the loans but for one reason or another they have stopped let me know where I stand, I call and get no answer back.

I wouldn't use Emery Credit Union

by | May 31, 2011
No lender should have to ask what a mortgage committment letter is. No lender should pull an underwriting condition a week before a committment letter is due and then point the finger at everyone else. If you want a real lender who can actually get you to the settlement table, call anyone else under the sun, except Emery Credit Union. My dog undertands more than EFCU does. Thankfully I'll never have to use them again. NO MORE Military Houseing Fund deals for me.

Do not waste your time with Emery Federal Credit

Emery is nothing but a mortgage broker with due to being a federal credit union is license exempt in all states. Like a broker they take your loans and it sits for a month with a processor who than submits the loan to the real lender-Bank- At which time the bank will send the approval with another 3 weeks with conditions that take another week or two to clear-If your lucky your loan will close in two months most of the time even longer- Do not waste your time with a mortgage broker especially Emery.

How do you know if it's a disgruntled employee unless you work for them too, and you are trying to defend some thing that is true. I have been trying to get a streamline refi thru these BOZO's for 7 months now. I am finally supposed to close tomorrow, but they still have not given me the settlement statement so I know what to bring to the table. If this does not happen tomorrow, I will be going elsewhere. I am disabled having had 2 strokes and I still have more common sense than this so-called broker.

Please be carefull of the mortgage Part 6 weeks into the process and Justin F calls me to tell me that I own to many houses. States they can not fund the loan. He knew how many houses I owned from day one and how many loans I had. Not very cool to be at the end of your escrow and getting slammed when they had the proper info. Please just be carefull obvious Justin and his manager have a poor knowledge base. Be carefull please!!! They dropped the ball big time.

Emery Federal Credit Union Review - Not bad at all

by | February 22, 2011
I am currently working with emery on a loan. we are closing March 3rd. it has taken about a month and half but its closing. we got a rate that was better then 2 other places that we looked at. were saving 147.00 per month and went down to a 20 year loan. i would say they are a B+ for how good they are. if took less time they would be an A.

Nice service

by | February 3, 2011
The cost of our loan was lower then our bank and the rate was better. this honestly was a solid experience and glad our refinance is done. it took about 3 weeks and we got a 15 year loan fixed. I know some peoples experience may not be the best but your financial situation may not be the best eithert it may be harder to get refinanced then others. overall Emery is pretty darn good

Real good experience

by | February 3, 2011
Our home loan was a little tougher to do so it took 2 months before we closed. They were very helpful with any questions I had and from start to finish the cost and rate were the same so that was good and unexpected. I would refer them to my family and friends.

Emery Federal was challenging

by | December 28, 2010
we had over 2 months to get our loan to close. We were supposed to close tomorrow, however every single person involved and and employed by Emery has dropped the ball.

Worked out well

I was pleased with my refinance through Emery. I got one of the lowest rates available at the time, and my rep was very friendly and easy to deal with - so friendly, I kept thinking this was a scam, but it was all legit. Emery is just a broker, so my loan was set up through Quicken Loans, and I think Emery's size allows them to get better rates than going to a lender directly.

What a great experience, better than any lender I have worked with in the past. Frank is amazing, I have referred many friends to him and we have all been pleased with the great service.

Sometimes underwriters can use discretion on the total number of properties owned and when all the rental income/expenses/write offs are totaled up, sometimes the loan changes. Multiple property loans are very complicated and take longer. Plus property types can be changed or disallowed by underwriters changing the loan scenario.

Watch out...

by | December 11, 2010
I tried for 9 months to refinance our home loan through Emery Federal. I was told several times that we were about to close, just submit new pay stubs, etc. and was always delayed, even though I jumped through their many hoops. The final straw was when they wanted ME to pay for another appraisal because the first one was outdated ("declining market") because they had taken so long to close our loan. I wasn't about to fork out another $415 with the strong possibility that we would NEVER close!

    I totally agree with you

beware of the So Cal team

by | December 10, 2010
I have spent 4 months trying to get a refi finalized with Emery in So Cal. It has been a nightmare. I was told time and again 'we are about tho close' and then they delayed time and again. They even tried to pull a bait and switch and up the rate at the 11th hour. I thought this sort of thing had been eradicated from the financial services system, but I guess not.

I had a bad experience with Wells Fargo. They took three months, did my appraisal, charged me for it and stopped returning my calls. All the time saying it was almost done. I called Emery Federal and closed in 4 weeks to the day.

I agree 4 months is too long. Obviously I don't know all the circumstances. Some loans do take longer and some go very fast. If you are quoted a rate and then months later you are finally good to lock, it is not bait and switch if the rate is different.

Emery helped me refinance.

They were super helpful, in particular Frank. He was wonderful and helped me evaluate several loan products and ultimately a fixed-rate 30-year mortgage loan. Thanks for the great help, Emery Federal.
