A lot of people make loan decisions based on monthly payment. You really should be looking at what the lifetime cost and what the interest cost is on new loan products. A lot of people have high interest credit card debt. You should really pay that down as quick as possible so that your money is working for you.
Make sure you are paying your bills on time. Banks made 38 billion dollars last year on late fees and over limit fees. Get your share of that back by paying your bills on time. Take advantage of free money opportunities that are out there. Max out your 401k’s , use your IRA, If you have kids, max out a 529 and use those free tax free dollars to build wealth over time."
