I am an authorized user on three credit cards with my partner of 10 years, however we are not married. I would like to assume this debt in full as my own. Each card is under $1,000 or just slightly over. We paid and were current until about a year ago when we both lost our jobs. I would like to know if this can be done and if so how I would go about doing it?

Due to a business failure, I had to file bankruptcy more than 10 years ago. I owed a balance on my Chase credit cards, which was discharged. My credit scores average above 800 today. I applied for a credit card recently and was denied by Chase. I think they made a bad decision because I have more than $100,000 in Chase over various checking accounts. Should I change banks?

I have foolishly been paying for a payment protection plan for my Chase credit card. I am now unemployed. Should I use the payment protection service? If I do, Chase will suspend principal, interest and payment protection plan charges for 2 years. Meanwhile credit bureaus will reflect a static balance, and it will be obvious I'm not paying down my credit card. I figure if my creditors se...

I have had/used a Chevron Credit Card since 1991. I charge gasoline for the month and pay the entire bill when I receive it. Chevron is pulling out of WV and in a few weeks I will not be able to use the card in my state any more. I want to maintain my excellent credit score, so do I keep the card and possibly never use it again or do I cancel this card?

I am retired, and live in Illinois on a pension. I have credit card debt of about $60,000. I have been unable to make payments. I have recently had my mortgage modified, but this just keeps my head above water. Can I be sued by the credit card companies? And can they take my home?

I was late on one of my credit card payments that had a deffered interest on a purchase. Due to my late payment my interest was defaulted and it was applied to my next monthÂ’s minimum payment. So, I went from $120.00 per month min payment to $1057.00 minimum payment which I cannot afford to pay. I tried to work out some type of arrangement with the creditor but I was declined to...

Will closing a credit card after I pay it off look bad? I have a card that they lowered my credit limit on (as well as many other people) and that makes me un-happy, so I wanted to cancel it to show them that I am unsatisfied, however, my mom said that if I close a credit card it makes my credit look bad.
