My mother died having a reverse mortgage. The house is worth much less than the amount owed. She left no assets other than her Florida home. I have communicated several times with the mortgage company by phone and in writing, stating that I did not want the home. They informed me that they would foreclose on the home. I just received a letter from the mortgage company's attorneys stating...

1. Can the mortgage be paid off while we are still living if we choose to? 2. Who puts the house for sale, is it the bank or the heirs?

My wife of 13 years passed away 4 years ago. The home loan was in her name only. I am currently the court appointed administrator of the estate. I would like to assume the loan. Is this possible and if so, what kind of cost would this mean to me.

I own a home that is paid for - no mortgage on it in Louisville Ky. The PVA on it is $128,000. I am age 51, and receive SSA disability benefits totaling $822 monthly net income. However, I do not have any other bills so it is feasible for me to live on this amount (although I don't like it!) I also have a low credit score so the bank will not finance me. I have had an account with Chase ...

My parents lived in their home for many years. It was paid off. Several years ago, they took out an equity loan to start a business and help pay for college for my sisters and I as well as my wedding. My father recently passed away from cancer leaving large unpaid medical bills. My mother is currently unable to continue paying on the home as my father ran the business and it is a complete me...

My wife and I are going to try qualifying for a home loan soon. Would it be better to pay a $9,000 balance on a timeshare mortgage we have, and not touch the $15,000 we have in savings? Or would it be better to use our savings to eliminate all our debts?

Just started the process for refinance of mortgage. We just did the electronic signing online preliminary and locked in on a rate. Did not sign anything physically. We found a better rate. Can we stop process now with no penalty? Are we committed to this lender or can we move on?

I have Chase for my mortgage, but I started a refinance with M&T bank about 5 weeks ago. The representative at M&T has been dishonest and has not been accurate with numbers. I have raised this to the attention of his management and they are reviewing the matter. As a backup I checked with my current lender and they were able to turn around information for me within the same day. Chas...
