I heard about NACA, and am planning to go to Arizona to attend a workshop and then to try to leverage that organization to restructure my loans, etc so that I do not lose my home. I don't know enough to be dangerous here, but trying to figure out if this organization is legit and worth their time. Any thoughts?

My wife and I are going to try qualifying for a home loan soon. Would it be better to pay a $9,000 balance on a timeshare mortgage we have, and not touch the $15,000 we have in savings? Or would it be better to use our savings to eliminate all our debts?

I have a line of credit with my house as calateral. How do I determine the value of my home? Is it replacement cost? Or average sales value in my neighborhood? How much of the value can be borrowed with a reverse mortgage?

Same question about the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit qualification. Just thought I should give you more details. In August of 2006, my wife bought the house her parents are living in currently because she had excellent credit. She was trying to help out her desperate parents. They pay the mortgage payments but the house is in her name. She lived there a year (until July of 2007) and then...

Feb/10Mark CappelFebruary 17, 2010My daughter purchased her deceased grandfathers house in February 2009. Her 2 uncles, her father and an aunt had joint ownership of the property. The house was purchased at full market value and purchased with the guidance of a real estate agency. We have been told that the amendment on August 2009 stipulating that you cannot purchase a home from a relative, deems my daughter ineligible to qualify...
